Sh. S.S. Ahluwalia, Hon’ble Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, visited Kangra and Mandi Districts on 9th November, 2018 for the inauguration ceremony of Zabsang Choekhorling Makerspace lab, new era of Artificial Intelligence, at Zabsang Choekhorling Shedra, the Monastic University for higher Buddhist Studies and Research Centre, as the Chief Guest at Chauntra, District Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.

He delivered a talk on Artificial Intelligence and appreciated the initiative of the Institute for creation of Makerspace, which will provide the place for the students for hands-on, to encourage students to design, experiment, build and invent.  He was accompanied by Sh. Avneesh Gupta, Senior Technical Director, NIC.  He was declared State Guest by the HP Government.

Sh. Bhupinder Pathak, DIO Kangra welcomed and received the Hon’ble Minister at Gaggal Airport and accompanied him to Chauntra in District Mandi where Sh. Akhilesh Bharti, DIO Mandi welcomed the Hon’ble Minister.

Sh. Pathak and Sh. Bharti, DIOs Kangra and Mandi respectively, presented the NIC Himachal Pradesh State Profile to the Sh. S.S. Ahluwalia and apprised him of the important projects and ICT activities being carried out by NIC in the State. The Minister appreciated the NIC work and shared his insights into ICT development over the years in the Government with specific reference to the Parliament of India.

Sh. S.S. Ahluwalia stayed overnight at Dharamshala and was seen off by the DIO Kangra at Gaggal Airport on the morning of 10th November 2018.
