Honorable Speaker, Bihar Visits Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha to Study e-Vidhan

Sh. V. K. Chaudhary , Hon'ble Speaker, Bihar Vidhan Sabha visited Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha and met Sh. B. B. L. Butail, Hon'ble Speaker, Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha at Shimla on 28th August 2017, to study  e-Vidhan System. The Hon'ble Speaker, Bihar Vidhan Sabha has shown interest in rolling out of e-Vidhan Himachal Pradesh model in Bihar. 

Sh. Chaudhary said that as the e-Vidhan has been implemented successfully in Himachal Pradesh with the help of NIC and NICSI, similarly we will implement it in Bihar with the help of NIC and NICSI. Hon'ble Speaker, Bihar was accompanied with Sh. Sanjeev, Technical Director, NIC Bihar.

Sh. B.B.L. Butail said that Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly is India’s first ever high-tech assembly with automated and paperless functioning. It automated the process involved in working of House including various House Committees, its Secretariat and managing Constituencies by respective Hon'ble Members.

Sh. Butail further said that by making H.P. Assembly paperless, there is approx. saving of Rs. 15 crores per annum for H.P. State Government. There is Minimum expenditure by Government Departments on manpower and plying of vehicles between offices and Legislative Assembly Secretariat during the Assembly sessions, which also resulted in environment saving and carbon credit.  Since launching of e-Vidhan System on 4th August 2014 by Hon’ble Chief Minister Himachal Pradesh, all documents related to the House are made available online to Hon’ble Members through touch screens installed on their tables and Mobile Apps. All papers for laying in the House during Assembly Sessions are sent/received online from government departments using secure  e-Vidhan website. No manual paper is received.
