The Honorable Chief Justice High Court of Himachal Pradesh, Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir,  in the august presence of all the Honorable Judges of High Court of Himachal Pradesh inaugurated the Video Conferencing facility installed in thirteen Sub Divisional/Tehsil Level Courts at Reckong Peo, Ani (Civil & Sessions Division, Kinnaur), Jubbal, Rohru and Chopal (Civil & Sessions Division, Shimla), Rajgarh (Civil & Sessions Division, Sirmaur), Nalagarh, Arki (Civil & Sessions Division, Solan), Karsog, Sarkaghat, Jogindernagar (Civil & Sessions Division, Mandi), Baijnath and Dehra (Civil & Sessions Division, Kangra at Dharamshala) through Video Conferencing on 28th July, 2016 at 4.30 P.M. from the Honorable Judges Lounge, High Court of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla.

Besides a mode of communication for Honorable CJ & Judges of HP High Court with the Judicial officers of the state at Sub-Divisional/Tehsil Courts, the VC facility will be useful to avoid physical movement of the prisoners who are lodged in different prisons in the state and are required to appear in court for hearing of the case. The VC facility which is available at prison as well as court complex will serve the purpose and no physical movement will be required saving the money involved in providing transportation and necessary deployment of police officials for security reasons. This will also reduce the incidence of prisoner’s escaping during this transportation. Similarly, VC facility is also installed at Forensic Labs in the state so that forensic experts can also make use of the VC to give their witness in the court of law and thereby saving precious time and money involved in physical movement of the experts.

The technical support for VC based Inauguration ceremony was provided by NIC, Himachal Pradesh.
