The State of Himachal Pradesh has been awarded the CSI Nihilent e-Governance Award of Excellence for the year 2012-13. The Award has been conferred upon the State of Himachal Pradesh for its achievements in providing citizen services at their door-steps and for implementing various eGovernance activities in the State. A number of National eGovernance Awards, Web Ratna Awards, CSI and Manthan Awards have been won by various Projects of the State Government and these are running successfully over the years.

The Award was received by Sh. S.R. Mardi IPS, Additional Director General of Prisons, Government of Himachal Pradesh and Dr. Saurabh Gupta, State Informatics Officer, NIC Himachal Pradesh, in the 48th CSI Annual Convention at Visakhapatnam on 14th December 2013. The awards were presented by Sh. J. Satyanarayana, Secretary (DeitY) GoI and Professor S.V. Raghavan National President CSI & Scientific Secretary to Principal Scientific Advisor, Government of India.

Sh. S.R. Mardi, ADGP Prisons, Himachal Pradesh presented the details of various eGovernance initiatives undertaken and implemented by different departments of the Government of Himachal Pradesh in the Award presentations.
