Odisha Forest Development Corporation (OFDC), Govt. of Odisha, is responsible for  Trade of salvage timber / firewood, processed and phal Kendu leaves, Collection and trade of Salseed, Trade of cashew nut and rubber harvested through plantation, Collection, Processing and trade of Honey and Non timber Forest Product (NTFP) items etc. With the objective to implement e-Procurement as well as e-Auction system of NIC, OFDC has requested NIC Odisha state centre to organise a sensitisation workshop for senior officers of OFDC to understand process and deliverables of GePNIC.

 Inaugurating the workshop held on 22nd June 2013, Shri S. S. Srivastava, IFS, Managing Director, Corporate Office, informed that OFDC has been asked by GOI to implement both eProcurement and eAuction system for trade of Timber and Kendu leaves. This trade in Odisha is around 500 crores per year.

Shri A. K. Hota, Sr. Technical Director, NIC, initiating the presentation discussed unique features of the NIC eProcurement system. It was followed by live presentation by Shri T. P. Ray, Technical Director, NIC.

 In the valedictory session, Shri Ajit Bharthuar, IFS, Director Commercial, Corporate Office addressing participants wished cooperation from all level to make this new initiative a success. Later he discussed with Shri S. K. Panda, DDG & SIO, Odisha, and requested that NIC should integrate e-Payment system for Tender Fee and EMD submission so that whole process gets streamlined.

  The programme was coordinated by Shri Siba Prasad Dash, Scientist-D.
