Haryana:Workshop cum training Programme for Secretary,RTAs & staff of Regional Transport Authorities

A Workshop cum training Programme was conducted for Secretary, RTAs and staff of Regional Transport Authorities of Haryana on 23rd February.  The programme was inaugurated by Smt. Sumita Misra, IAS, Transport Commissioner, Haryana.

She addressed the officers and emphasized upon standardization of business processes related to vehicle registration and driving licenses by using VAHAN, SARATHI and other solutions developed by National Informatics Centre under the guidance of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India and being implemented in all the states with the objective of streamlining the work of Registration and Licensing Authorities and information sharing using Information Technology.

Sh. Bhupinder Singh, HCS, Additional Transport Commissioner, greeted the participants and briefed about the web site of Regulatory Wing of the Transport Department and online Road Tax collection for Transport vehicles to be inaugurated shortly. Sh.Sanjay Sharma, Transport Project Co-ordinator, NIC-Haryana apprised the participants about the purpose of the workshop and gave a presentation about all the functionalities of VAHAN, SARATHI and online informational and transactional services of National and State Portals. New features of High Security Registration Plate (HSRP) interface module and sending SMS to the citizen on receipt of fee and approval of service request was elaborated in detail. Demonstration was also arranged parallel to Presentation on simulated environment. Training lab was prepared to facilitate participants having VAHAN and SARATHI on 18 computers with test data of 5 different authorities installed. The portal of Haryana Regulatory Wing of the Transport Department (to be inaugurated soon) was made available to the participants with test account of State Bank of India for full cycle experience of Online Road tax collection through portal, Replications of online receipt to Authority and clearance of TAX by Authority in VAHAN.The District Informatics Officers of Haryana also participated through VC.

The programme was concluded by Sh. Amarjeet Singh Mann, HCS, Additional Transport Commissioner, addressed and open discussion session with the participants.
