Standardization of district portal an initiative of National Portal of India bagged first prize as best govt portal category in eWorld-2012
The standardized citizen centric district portal developed on the content architecture of the National Portal of India (india.gov.in ), a mission mode project of Government of India, under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) bagged the eWorld-2012 award in “Best Government Portal Category”.
The award was received by Shri S. K. Panda, State Informatics Officer , NIC, Odisha along with Dr R N Behera, Technical Director and D. P. Mishra, PSA, NIC(HQ) in the Hotel Le Meridien, New Delhi on 15th June 2012. The Secretary to the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), Union Ministry for Communication and Information Technology Dr. J. Satyanarayana, Dr Sudhir Krishnan, Secretary Union Ministry of Urban Development, Ms Caltilin Wiesen, Country head UNDP, Sri Anil Srivastava, IAS, CMD, Pawan Hans Helicopter Ltd were present on the occasion along with various dignitaries World Wide and IT Secretaries of several States of India.
The standardized citizen centric district portal framework was developed on the content architecture of the National Portal of India (india.gov.in), a mission mode project of Government of India, under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP).The basic aims and objective of the portal is to standardize all 627 District Portals of India and Odisha was the Pilot State in this initiative. It acts as a single window platform for all categories of information.
The Portal is designed and developed by NIC Odisha State Centre by the team headed by Dr. R. N. Behera, Technical Director and team members Sri K. C. Pattnaik, PSA, Sri Sambit K. Panda, PSA, Smt S. Smita, S/T-B under the guidance of Shri S. K. Panda, STD & SIO, NIC, Odisha with the advise and technical support from National Portal of India, NIC, New Delhi Team Sri D P Misra, PSA, Ms. Alka Mishra, STD, headed by Ms. Neeta Verma, Sr. Technical Director.
The Information Technology (IT) Department, Government of Odisha, is the nodal department for implementation of the project in Odisha. Luminous Infoways Pvt. Ltd., Bhubaneswar is the Content Service Provider (CSP) for this project those who collect, compile and upload contents from Districts with the help of District Website Maintenance Committee headed by Collector and District Magistrate and District Informatics Officer (DIO) of NIC as member convener. Delighted over getting the award, Sri Panda thanked e-World forum and all stake holders for making this project successful.
