Mobile-based Fertilizer Monitoring System (mFMS) - State level Workshop/Training Program held at Imphal Manipur

Department of Fertilizer, Government of India has taken up the project  mFMS (Mobile based Fertilizer Monitoring System) to  ensure information visibility across the supply chain of fertilizer. NIC is the executing organization of the project. A Task Force, headed by Sh. Nandan Nilekani is monitoring the project regularly. The project covers Areas like Stock Reporting by manufacturers, wholesalers, Retailers, Receipts & Sales Confirmations by wholesalers, Retailers and Access to the System through Web, Mobile Phones and IVR.

 For Manipur, Brahmaputra Valley Fertiliser Corportaion Ltd (BVFC), Namrup  is  the Lead Fertilizer Suppliers(LFS) and nodal department is Department of Agriculture, Govt. of Manipur. To implement the project successfully and to get acquainted with the new technology/devices used by wholesalers and Retailers of Manipur,  One day state level workshop/training programme was conducted at  Hotel Imphal, Manipur on 23rd Sept. 2011. The workshop was attended by 30 wholesalers and Retailers of Manipur. The training was organized by Dept. of Agriculture , Govt. of Manipur jointly by BVFC, NIC and M/S SAHARA India.

The training covers - Introduction to direct Fertilizer Subsidy project, Web Application, Mobile client application and IVRS, along with installation of Mobile client application on the mobiles of participants and hands on training on selected modules.
The training was graced by Commissioner (Agriculture) ,  Director (Agriculture), Govt. of Manipur, SIO NIC Manipur, Official from BVFCL,The technical presentation and overview of the project was given by Technical team of M/S Sahara and NIC Manipur.
