Officials from the World Food Programme (WFP) also participated in the inauguration ceremony through Video Conferencing. They appreciated and congratulated the Government of Chhattisgarh for introducing this innovative initiative aimed at making the public distribution system more accessible, transparent, and technology-driven.

During the inauguration, the Hon’ble Minister of Food and Civil Supplies, Chhattisgarh, interacted virtually with beneficiaries from Bilaspur and Durg districts. The beneficiaries shared their experiences of using the newly operational Grain ATMs, highlighting the convenience, ease of access, and usefulness of the system in obtaining food grains. The interaction also provided an opportunity to understand their expectations and gather valuable feedback for further improvement of the service.

The Grain ATM initiative is expected to bring greater efficiency and transparency to the distribution of food grains under the public distribution system. By leveraging technology, the system aims to simplify the process for beneficiaries, reduce manual intervention, ensure accurate distribution, and improve accessibility to essential food grains. Overall, the initiative represents an important step toward strengthening the digital and beneficiary-centric delivery of food-grain services in Chhattisgarh.
