A State-Level Workshop on the Interoperable Criminal Justice System (ICJS) was inaugurated in Chhattisgarh, on 2nd August 2026, marking a significant step towards strengthening technology-enabled coordination across the criminal justice ecosystem.

The workshop was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh. The inaugural session was presided over by the Hon'ble Chief Justice of the High Court of Chhattisgarh in the distinguished presence of the Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister of Chhattisgarh and the Hon'ble Law Minister of Chhattisgarh*. The event was also attended by six Hon'ble Judges of the High Court of Chhattisgarh, senior officials from the judiciary, police, prisons, prosecution, forensic science laboratories, and the National Informatics Centre (NIC).

The workshop provided a platform for deliberations on the implementation and effective utilisation of the Interoperable Criminal Justice System (ICJS), which enables seamless digital integration among key criminal justice stakeholders. The discussions focused on enhancing inter-departmental coordination, improving efficiency in case processing, ensuring timely exchange of information, and strengthening the delivery of justice through digital technologies.

The programme reaffirmed the commitment of the Government of Chhattisgarh, the High Court of Chhattisgarh, and the participating departments towards leveraging ICT for a more transparent, efficient, and citizen-centric criminal justice system.
