Shri Vivek Bharadwaj, Secretary Ministry of Panchayati Raj launched “DanVeer” initiative on 29th July 2026 at Krishi Bhawan, Delhi.  Sunita Jain Senior Director, HoD NIC Panchayati Raj Division and other officials from Panchayati Raj were present on the occasion.

“DanVeer initiative” is enabled from Meri Panchayat App conceptualized, designed & developed by NIC-MoPR team for Ministry of Panchayati Raj. The DanVeer initiative has been conceptualized as a unique digital platform to enable citizens to contribute meaningfully to the development of their native or chosen Gram Panchayats. Through the Meri Panchayat App, (the mGovernance platform for panchayats of India initiated, conceptualized, designed and developed by NIC) any citizen can register as a donor and support Panchayats by donating essential digital infrastructure.

The initiative has been conceptualized, designed and developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) for the Ministry of Panchayati Raj. Meri Panchayat has been integrated with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) / DigiHaat, a Digital Public Infrastructure, to facilitate seamless donation of customized bundles such as computer, printer and UPS for Gram Panchayats.

Under this initiative, a donor can select the package, make payment through ONDC/DigiHaat and donate the equipment directly to the official address of the Gram Panchayat. The system also establishes a communication channel between the donor and the Panchayat Secretary through notification services, ensuring transparency at every stage — from order placement and payment to delivery, installation and acknowledgement.

After successful delivery and installation of the donated package, the Gram Panchayat issues a Certificate of Gratitude to the donor, recognizing their contribution towards strengthening grassroots digital governance.

The DanVeer initiative represents a meaningful step towards citizen participation in Panchayat development. By enabling people to give back to their roots, it strengthens the digital capacity of Gram Panchayats, promotes community ownership and supports the vision of empowered, digitally enabled and self-reliant Panchayats.
