On the occasion of NIXI's 23rd Foundation Day, NIC has been honored with the Registrar of the Year
Since 2005, National Informatics Centre (NIC) has been serving as an accredited registrar for the .gov.in domain. The Web Technology Division of NIC manages domain registration services and plays a pivotal role in maintaining the .gov.in namespace. Currently, NIC administers more than 4,500 third-level domains and approximately 1.5 lakh .gov.in subdomains, enabling a robust and secure digital presence for government organizations across the country.
In recognition to its outstanding contribution to strengthening secure domain name system through DNSSEC implementation, NIC has been conferred with the prestigious “Registrar of the Year – Highest DNSSEC” award on the occasion of 23rd Foundation Day of National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI).
The award was presented by Shri S. Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.
