Raipur: A special workshop and training programme on the Integrated Road Accident Database (iRAD) was organized for resident doctors and nursing staff of the Trauma and Emergency Department of AIIMS. The objective of the programme was to provide information on prompt data entry related to road accident cases, accident management, and the effective implementation of the PM Relief Scheme (Cashless Treatment Scheme).

The programme was attended by Shri Arvind Yadav, Director, NIC; Shri Sharansh Shirke, State Rollout Manager; Shri Mohit Rajput, Senior Programmer; Dr. Devendra Tripathi, Medical Superintendent, AIIMS Raipur; Dr. Varun Anand, iRAD Nodal Officer, AIIMS; Dr. Chandan De; and other doctors and healthcare personnel.

During the workshop, Shri Arvind Yadav, Director, NIC, provided detailed insights into the functioning of the iRAD application and the PM Relief Scheme, highlighting their significant role in road accident management and the facilities available to accident victims. Shri Sharansh Shirke, State Rollout Manager, shared information regarding the effective implementation of the iRAD portal and the PM Relief Scheme, the data entry process, and various provisions of the scheme.

As part of the training, a live demonstration of a real road accident case was presented on the iRAD portal. The process of providing treatment to the concerned patient under the PM Relief Scheme was also demonstrated. Through this live demonstration, the participating doctors and nursing staff gained practical knowledge of accident reporting, data entry procedures, and the benefits available under the scheme.

At the conclusion of the programme, participants described the iRAD system as a significant initiative for the effective collection and analysis of road accident data and for ensuring timely assistance to accident victims. They also emphasized that such training programmes are instrumental in strengthening road safety measures and emergency medical services.
