State-Level Training on Road Safety and Digital Enforcement Systems
A comprehensive State-Level Training Workshop on Road Safety was successfully under the chairmanship of Shri Pradeep Gupta, IPS. The workshop aimed at strengthening road safety mechanisms, promoting data-driven decision-making, and enhancing enforcement as well as post-accident response systems across the State.
Key Highlights of the Workshop
1. Road Accident Data Analysis
A detailed presentation and deliberation were conducted on road accident data, including a year-wise comparative analysis for the years 2024, 2025, and up to March 2026. The parameters covered included:
a- Total number of road accidents
b- Number of fatalities
c- Number of grievous injuries
Special emphasis was laid on identifying high-risk districts, accident-prone corridors, and critical junctions to enable targeted interventions.
2. Digital Initiatives by NIC
Technical sessions were conducted by the NIC team, focusing on key digital platforms, including:
a- iRAD (Integrated Road Accident Database): Facilitates real-time data entry and analytics for evidence-based policymaking.
b- eDAR (Electronic Detailed Accident Report): Enables digital preparation and submission of accident reports for expeditious processing.
c- PMRAHAT: Ensures timely financial assistance to road accident victims.
d- eChallan: A digital enforcement system aimed at improving transparency and compliance.
3. Timeline-Based Process Understanding
Detailed explanations were provided on timeline-based processes, including:
a- Hit & Run Compensation Process: Step-wise procedures were outlined to expedite compensation to victims.
b- DAR Process: A standardized digital workflow was explained, defining timelines, roles, and responsibilities of investigation officers.
4. Expert Sessions and Resource Persons
The workshop featured expert sessions delivered by distinguished officers and domain experts, including:

Conclusion
The workshop underscored the importance of data-driven enforcement, digital integration, and inter-departmental coordination in reducing road accidents and fatalities. It also emphasized the need for timely data entry, efficient investigation, and prompt compensation mechanisms to improve overall road safety outcomes in the State.
