Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Moves Towards Early Implementation of NeVA
In a significant step towards strengthening digital governance in legislative functioning, a meeting was held today with the Hon’ble Speaker of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Shri Tesam Pongte, along with Secretary (SLA) Mrs. Tadar Meena and Deputy Director (SLA) Mr. Rongrang. The discussions focused on the early implementation of the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA), aligned with the vision of “One Nation, One Application.”
The Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly has been a frontrunner in adopting digital solutions, having earlier implemented the eVidhan application—the first such initiative in Northeast India. However, this implementation was based on a privately developed platform, similar to the system used by the Kerala State Legislative Assembly.
The renewed push for NeVA adoption follows the direction articulated during the NeVA Conference held on 30 October 2025, where the Hon’ble Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Kiren Rijiju, emphasized the need for a unified digital platform across all legislative bodies in the country.
In line with this national vision, the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly has expressed its commitment to transitioning to NeVA at the earliest. The initiative aims to ensure standardization, interoperability, and enhanced efficiency in legislative processes, while strengthening the broader framework of digital governance.
The meeting concluded with a shared resolve to implement the NeVA project in both letter and spirit, marking another step towards a more connected and technologically empowered legislative ecosystem.
