Honorable PM, Shri Narendra Modi, inaugurates projects worth Rs33,700 crore during his Bilaspur visit on 30th March 2025

During his visit to Bilaspur, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for a series of nationally significant projects worth Rs33,700 crore on 30th March 2025. With the press of a remote button, these landmark initiatives spanning infrastructure, railways, transportation, energy, and mobility services were formally launched via video conferencing.

One of the key highlights of the event was the flagging off of the MEMU (Mainline Electric Multiple Unit) train service between Abhanpur and Raipur. The Prime Minister flagged off the train remotely from Mohbhatta, Bilaspur. This new service is a major boost for daily commuters between Raipur and Abhanpur, offering them a convenient, timely, and efficient mode of transport.

The event was graced by the presence of the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Union Ministers, members of the State Cabinet, Members of Parliament, public representatives, and other distinguished guests.

The large-scale video conferencing event was smoothly coordinated and executed by NIC Bilaspur. In close collaboration with NIC Delhi, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) technical team, RailTel, and the Abhanpur station team, NIC Bilaspur ensured high-quality live streaming and seamless connectivity.

The primary aim of this initiative was to strengthen the nation’s infrastructure, provide modern transportation facilities to citizens, and accelerate the overall development of Chhattisgarh. These projects are expected to significantly boost economic growth, enhance regional employment opportunities, improve transport services, and increase connectivity across the region.
