Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Centre, Cuttack put its signature on cyber world
Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Centre (AHRCC), Cuttack is one of the 29 Regional Cancer Centres of the country which obtained the status in 1983 with a view to be an integrated complex providing Research, Investigation, Early Detection, Public Awareness and Treatment of cancer cases. It caters to the patients of whole state of Orissa and its neighbouring states.
In a major boost to capacity addition, the Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Centre recently threw open its new Annexe building with 70 beds and allied infrastructure for the benefit of the public.
On this occasion Hon’ble Chief Minister, Orissa, Shri Naveen Patnaik, inaugurated the official portal of this premier institute developed & hosted by NIC State Centre, Orissa.
Shri H. P. Prusti , Technical Director, NIC, demonstrating several features of the website highlighted that the portal has hosted various service details being provided by the departments including Oncopathology, Surgical Oncology, Gynaecological Oncology, Head & Neck Oncology, Anaesthesiology (Pain & Palliative), Radiation Oncology, Medical Physics, Nuclear Medicine, Medical Oncology, Radio diagnosis etc. Detail bio-data of Professors, Asst Professors, Associate Professors, Senior Residents etc. rendering service at the centre has also been made available.
Interacting in the session, Shri A. K. Behera , Scientist “C” and D. Madan Prabhu, Scientific Officer from NIC added that apart from Users fee details for various tests, the portal educates common citizen on various Frequently Asked Questions about Cancer.
Participating in the discussion Prof. Sukdev Nayak, MD, Director (AHRCC), submitted that this is a humble beginning, but we have a long mile to go.
Hon’ble Chief Minister of Orissa appreciating the joint efforts put in by N.I.C in developing the website and AHRCC providing the content, wished that the portal would be immensely helpful & informative to the students, doctors & the common citizen in general.
