NIC joined as the Support Partner in 27th edition of Technology Sabha
Theme: Recognizing the leaders who are raising the bar for e-governance
Organized by the Indian Express (P) Ltd., Technology Sabha, has since long been India’s premier eGovernance Forum; setting the pace for eGovernance seminars with leadership dialogues, actionable case studies and best practices, networking opportunities and technology showcases.
The 27th edition of Technology Sabha was held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha during 14th and 15th February 2020 which was inaugurated by Hon’ble CM, Odisha Shri Naveen Patnaik. Other dignitaries present on the dais include Shri Tusharkanti Behera Hon’ble Minister, IT & Electronics, Dr. Omkar Rai, DG, STPI, Shri Manoj Mishra, Secretary E&IT department.
Delivering Inaugural Speech, Hon’ble CM said, “As the name of the programme suggests, the focus is on finding technology-driven solutions to our everyday issues, and making technology a way of life. Technologies are changing very fast from desktop to laptop to tablets to mobiles, and from Internet of Things to Internet of Everything. Keeping this in view, the IT Sector is at the top of my Government’s agenda.”
Participating in the occasion Smt. Pratibha Singh, DDG & SIO, NIC, Odisha delivered a talk on ‘Contributions of NIC, Odisha in the realm of the State’s e-Governance space’. She told that, with ever increasing surge in demand for digital services, NIC too has recalibrated its efforts as per State’s mandate both in service delivery and underlying automation especially along with the new 5T mantra of the Govt.
She highlighted various achievements of NIC at National level as well as at State level including establishment of 4th state-of-the-art NDC at Bhubaneswar, Centres of Excellences in the fields of Application Security, Block Chain, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics etc. She wished that NIC Odisha would continue to play a pivotal partnership role with Odisha Government in its efforts to perform, reform and transform.
Addressing on an innovative journey i.e. “One Nation, One Ration Card”, Shri Gautam Ghosh, DDG and HoG for Food and Consumer Affairs presented on Components of End to End Computerization of TPDS.
He highlighted on Integrated Management of Public distribution System leading to Creation of Central Repository, De-duplication at National Level, Implementation of National Portability, Performing Data Analytics etc. He informed that Public Distribution System as Digital Platform can support Various New Schemes and Possibility of exchanging information between different department and schemes can be achieved.
Technology Sabha has been able to gather key Government ICT practitioners and decision makers, under one roof, as they work towards the creation of a more transparent and efficient governance mechanism.
