Sh. Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, inaugurated the Global Investors' Meet 2019, the flagship business event of the Government of Himachal Pradesh, on 7th November 2019 at Dharamshala. NIC District Unit, Kangra at Dharamshala provided the necessary technical support in setting up the PM Office during the visit of Hon’ble Prime Minister as per the directions and requirements of SPG.

Sh. Jai Ram Thakur, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Himachal Pradesh has taken personal interest in organizing this event and has reached out to the industrial houses by signing MoUs before the event. These MoUs are entered into the Him Pragati software developed by NIC at https://himpragati.nic.in for monitoring, follow-up and addressing the concerns of Investors. The Himachal Pradesh Government has showcased the policy and regulatory environment, investment opportunities across focus sectors to boost manufacturing and employment generation in the State. These Sectors are Agriculture, Food Processing, Pharmaceuticals, Tourism, Hydro and Renewable Energy, Healthcare and Ayush, Housing & Urban Development, Transport, Infrastructure and Logistics, Information Technology, Education and Skill Development.

Sectoral Session on Information Technology, ITeS and Electronics was also organized in which Sh. Ajay Prakash Sawhney, IAS, Secretary, MeitY GOI participated. In his keynote address he said India today has an excellent set of opportunities in the field of IT. He said potential investors have already seen the life of big cities and seen the difficulties of major towns of Traffic, Pollution etc. and would definitely come to Himachal Pradesh where air is pollution free and the environment is very peaceful. During this session, the IT, ITeS and ESDM Policy-2019 was also unveiled by Dr. Ram Lal Markanda, Hon’ble IT Minister, Himachal Pradesh (https://risinghimachal.in/it-policy-pdf).

During the Global Investor Meet, 1250 rooms in different hotels were booked by the State Government and the IT support was provided by NIC District Centre Kangra to District Administration in allotment of rooms depending upon the type of guest category. Generation of various Hotel wise summary reports of allotted and balance rooms were readily available with the administration.   Sh. Bhupinder Pathak, DIO and Sh. Akshay Kumar, ADIO provided worked round the clock to ensure smooth technical support during this event at Dharamshala.
