NIC, Nagaland in collaboration with KMC and Urban Development &  Municipal Affairs Department, Govt. of Nagaland launched the  Trade License Application-cum-Issuance System developed under the ServicePlus Framework of NIC on Wednesday, 20/06/2018 in the Office of the Kohima Municipal Council(KMC), Kohima, Nagaland. The system has been developed for e-Municipality-as-a-Service (eMaaS) reforms under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT).
The program was chaired by Smt. Elizabeth Ngully, Administrator-KMC & CEO of Kohima Smart City Project & Joint Secretary, Urban Development & Municipal Affairs Department, Govt. of Nagaland. The Trade License System which was inaugurated by Mr. Metsubo Jamir,  Hon’ble Minister of Urban Development & Municipal Affairs & Taxes, Govt. of Nagaland, was graced by Dr. Nicky Kire, Adviser, Rural Development Deptt., Govt. of Nagaland and MLA from 9th Kohima Town LAC. Sh. Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Mission Director, AMRUT and Administrator Mokokchung Municipal Council were present during the launching occasion. Members from the press and media covered the program extensively by their presence.
 At the very outset, SIO, NIC, Nagaland Sh. Hemanta Kr. Saikia highlighted the various initiatives taken up by NIC-Nagaland for e-Governance including the recently launched Online Allocation & Supply Chain Management System under TPDS by department of F&CS and then launching of VAHAN 4.0 & SARATHI 4.0 by the Motor Vehicle Department on 19-06-2018 for efficient and transparent government, in the august presence of the dignitaries. SIO, Nagaland also said a congratulatory note to the Hon’ble Minister as well as KMC Administrator for successful launching of the Trade License Application-cum-Issuance System under the ServicePlus Framework which will definitely enable the Municipal Council administration in less-paper, efficient, transparent and friendly delivery of services to the traders of the state.
Ms. Novotsono Natso, Sc-B on behalf of Panchayat Informatics Division, NIC-HQ and NIC, Nagaland presented power point slides on the  Trade License Application-cum-Issuance System as well as features & capabilities of the ServicePlus Framework.
During inaugural speech the Hon’ble Minister of Urban Development & Municipal Affairs & Taxes, Mr. Metsubo Jamir, Govt. of Nagaland and the Hon’ble MLA, Dr. Nicky Kire in their speeches also congratulated the KMC and NIC for successfully launching of the online application under eMaaS which will definitely make a great impact in the smooth and timely delivery of services of Municipal administration  to the citizens of the state  and also suggested to roll it out to other  municipal council offices of different districts of Nagaland for achieving the same task. The Hon’ble Minister also mentioned in his speech that a lot of projects has been undertaken by NIC, Nagaland for the RD Department as well. He also stressed on the need for a Kohima City portal where all the online services would be available to the citizens instead of having separate portals for each service.
The DC, Kohima, Sh. Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS, also shared a few words with the audience wherein he requested the NIC team to continuously provide  support to the project in the coming days.
This was followed by a short speech by the Mission Director, AMRUT, wherein he highlighted the features and activities of the mission programme.
