Sh. Virbhadra Singh, Honourable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, inaugurated the website of the Himachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board website at Shimla on 6th June 2017. Chairman of the Board, Bawa Hardeep Singh, Ms. Jyoti Rana, Secretary of the Board, Sh. Ajay Singh Chahal, State Informatics Officer, Sh. Sanjay Sharma, Technical Director, NIC and other officers of the Board were present during the launch ceremony.

Honorable Chief Minister expressed the hope that the website will be helpful to the contractors who engage these workers and the workers themselves as lot of benefits can be availed by these building and other construction workers. The Chairman and Secretary of the Board informed that there has been a marked increase in the welfare benefits disbursed by the Board during the last few years and that the website will help to educate people about the activities being carried out by the Board.

The website provides information related to the Act, Notifications, downloadable forms, welfare schemes, amounts, contact officers, their addresses at field level, important notices, how to register, make contributions and avail various benefits, categorised under different criteria. All content is in Hindi for ease of understanding by the building and other construction workers

The website has been designed and developed by NIC Himachal Pradesh. Sh. Shailender Kaushal, Scientist-D, Sh. Sushant Abbot, SFNO and Sh. Rajkumar, Sr VC Coordinator, provided the audio-visual and other technical support during the inaugural ceremony.
