Village Health and Nutrition Day (VHND) is being observed in all GPs of North Tripura once in a month since September 2010 in complete convergence mode in terms of fund and staff from different depts like School Education, Health, Social welfare & Social Education, RD & DWS

Several schemes of the government have been converged and services rendered to the citizen through the VHND. This, a kind of health ‘mela’ held once a month, provides for the first point of contact for essential primary healthcare and works as the common platform for convergence amongst service providers of Health, ICDS, Rural Development, Panchayat, Drinking Water, District Disability Rehabilitation Centre, Literacy, Disaster Management, Self-Help Groups and the community. All these departments has different role on this day.

For effective monitoring of this innovative effort a Web based VHND Monitoring System  (164.100.127.10/vhndnorth) have been designed and developed by NIC North Tripura District.  Pre-defined reporting formats are filled up on the VHN day for data entry into this web based system from CDPO office or any other location suitable for them. The BDO, CDPO and Medical Officer of RH/PHCs are the stakeholders of the system and are provided with user credentials for entering all information related to VHND from their respective location on completion of VHN day. The number of reports helped District Administration, Dept of Social welfare and the Health Dept. in effective monitoring. The initiative ensures that better quality data is generated and stored for future decision making. The Reports can be opened at the home page of the district website (unakoti.nic.in) for public viewing and monitoring and do not need any user authentication.
