Hon’ble Shri Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister, Bihar inaugurated E-PEYJAL & E-CHAPAKAL Android apps developed by NIC, Bihar State Centre, Patna on 20.07.2016 for Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Govt. of Bihar from the “Samvad”, CM Secretariat, Patna.
Shri Krishannandan Prasad Verma, Hon'ble Minister PHED, Shri. Shishir Sinha, IAS, Developement Commissioner, Bihar, Smt. Anshuli Arya, IAS, Principal Secretary PHED, Shri Atish Chandra, IAS, Secretary to CM, Dr. Gopal Singh, IFS, OSD to CM, Shri Shashikant Tiwary, IAS, Additional Secretary-cum-Project Director, RWSPP, Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh, SIO, NIC-Bihar, Shri Shailesh Kumar Shrivastava, Technical Director, NIC-Bihar were also present on the occasion.


Two Android apps have been launched namely E-Peyjal & E-Chapakal to monitor progress under various PHED schemes across the state of Bihar.
The Objective is
(i)   To provide concurrent physical monitoring and performance assessment of Department’s Water Supply Scheme/Hand pumps.
(ii)  To provide web based concurrent monitoring of Hand-pump and Piped Water Supply
(iii) To provide detailed information and status of the above facilities to the public.
(iv)  To establish Central Grievance Redressal System and facilitate public to know about status of their complaints.
(v)   To Promote transparency and the accountability

E-Peyjal Android app monitors work progress for pipe water supply schemes.
E-Peyjal can be downloaded from Google Play Store (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nic.app.pipewatermonitoring) as well as from the PHED website (http://phedmis.bih.nic.in).  
E-Chapakal Android app monitors work progress under Hand-pump schemes. E-Chapakal can be downloaded from Google Play Store (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nic.app.ui.handpumpmonitoring) as well as from PHED web site (http://phedmis.bih.nic.in).
