Digital India Week Programmes Launched by Honourable Chief Minister, Himachal Pradesh
The Honourable Chief Minister, Himachal Pradesh, Sh. Virbhadra Singh launched the week long Digital India Week-DIW Programmes in the State by inaugurating 7 eServices under the E-District Project in HP Vidhan Sabha on 2nd July 2015. These services include birth and death certificate, MNREGA applications, migrant labourer registration etc.
During the launch function, digital lockers of Members of the HP Assembly were created and a Permanent Enrolment Centre for Aadhaar Cards was opened through Video Conference by the Honourable Chief Minister. Sh. Brij Bihari Lal Butail, Honourable Speaker of HP Assembly was present on the occasion.
During the week, a number of programs at State and District level were organised by HP Department of IT and NIC. A total of 16 State level events and almost 51 District level events were organised to educate the massed about the eServices being offered to the citizens through Internet and Citizen Service Centres-LokMitra Kendras in the State. The HP DIT ran regular jingles related to DIW on the FM radio besides organizing a Cyber Crimes Conference for the Police officers of the State.
Honourable Chief Minister also launched the TourMandi, an Android based Mobile Application relating to District Mandi Tourism facilities for the convenience of tourists. The App has information related to tourist places, hotels, police stations, health institutions, petrol pumps, contact information of important Government functionaries and an SOS button to get in touch with Authorities in cases of any type of emergency. The App uses GPS features of the mobile device along with the Maps to take the tourists from their current locations to the tourist place chosen by them.
Ms Upma Chawdhry, Additional Chief Secretary (Information Technology) to the Government of Himachal Pradesh released the My Diary mobile application (Android) for Officers and citizens giving the schedule of their appointments so that meetings could be properly planned and citizens be informed about the availability status of all officers at all levels. The App also gives the telephone numbers of all Administrative officers upto the Block level.
Other important events organised at District level include CSC based awareness camps, Gram Panchayat Awareness meetings through VC, Jeevan Praman and AEBAS camps. The stories and videos of the events have been uploaded on the DIW Portal too.
Every NIC officer from Himachal Pradesh worked actively and contributed effectively to make the DIW a success in the State of Himachal Pradesh.
