Two days Training Programme on 'Online Elementary  School Teachers Transfer System' for DIOs & Programmers of OPEPA of 30 Districts of Odisha was held at NKN Hall, NIC Odisha State Centre, Bhubaneswar. The training programme was inaugurated by Smt. Usha Padhee, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, School & Mass Education Department, Government of Odisha.

Other dignitaries present in the occasion were Shri S. K. Panda, Dy. Director General & SIO, Odisha, Dr. R. N. Behera, Sr. Technical Director, Sri Ajit Kumar Pattanayak, PSA, Sri P. K. Nayak, Dy. Director, Smt. P. P. Bhol, Joint Director, Sri P. K. Mishra, Asst. Director and Senior Officers from School & Mass Education Department, OPEPA and NIC.

The   'Online Elementary School Teacher Transfer System’ provides easy access to the   Teachers for application, verification, consolidation and monitoring of their transfer application. It has the facility for registration of teachers opting for transfer to any Intra-Block/ Intra-District Schools by filling up his/her   posting details like District, Block and School in which he /she is currently serving. The Date of Birth entered, will be verified for correctness of the teacher’s identity. The teacher has to register a mobile number for all future communication regarding the Login ID, Status of his application etc. through SMS push service.

Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Usha Padhee, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary appreciated the efforts of   NIC for development of 'Online Elementary School Teacher Transfer System'. In this system, the transfer grievances of more than 1.5 lacs   teachers of 54000 Primary & Upper Primary Schools will be redressed. This is the first initiative of Government of Odisha to redress the transfer grievances of Primary School Teachers. Also transfer of teachers to the single teacher schools will be made through this portal as per PTR (Pupil-Teacher-Ratio) following the RTE (Right to Education) norms. She also highlighted various e-initiatives taken by NIC for her Department. She advised the DIOs & Programmers of OPEPA to organise training programmes for DEOs (District Education Officer) and BEOs (Block Education Officer) at District level for Base data validation and about the administrative functions of DEO & BEO of the System.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri S. K. Panda, Dy. Director General & SIO, Odisha highlighted the functionalities of the online teacher transfer system and also appreciated the co-operation of officials of SME department for the development of this system.

Dr. R N Behera, STD gave a vivid presentation on the software. He highlighted the objectives   of 'Online Elementary School Teacher Transfer System' and described how it helps to reduce pressure on administrators at different level in terms of external influence and to track the status of transfer application at various levels through SMS

During the training sessions, Sri Ajit Kumar Pattanayak, PSA and other members of the team discussed the various modules of the system and demonstrated the Role of DEO & BEO for the system. The hands on session were assisted by Sri R K Sahoo, SA, Sri B L Gupta, SO/Engr-SB and other team members of NIC.

The 'Online Elementary School Teacher Transfer System'    is developed by National Informatics Centre, Odisha State Centre, Bhubaneswar with active support from Commissioner-cum-Secretary, School & Mass Education Department, Government of Odisha.
