e-PMS, an online Projects Management System developed and managed by NIC, Cabinet Secretariat Informatics Division, Cabinet Secretariat, for Uttarakhand  was launched at the Chief Minister Conference Room, Dehradun, Uttarakhand by Mr. Anil Swarup, Addl. Secretary and Chairman of Project Monitoring Group, Cabinet Secretariat, Govt. of India on 19th May 2014, Monday for fast-tracking industrial and infrastructure projects with investments in the range of Rs 100 to Rs 1,000 crore.

Explaining the objective and utility of the system, Mr. Swarup,  said the system was developed to track projects involving investment between Rs 100 crore and Rs 1,000 crore. It automates the entire tracking of stalled investment projects in the context of the bottlenecks. This would include submission of a new project, editing/updating the projects, reviewing the projects, submission of details relating to bottlenecks, Sub Group Meetings and the decisions taken to remove the implementation bottlenecks in the stalled investment project. It also includes preparation of Agenda and Minutes, Graphical Analysis, and Investment Monitoring.

As per the mechanism when an input is being added by an industry to the State PMG, the portal shall automatically push in the data to the respective ministries at the state level. Once the entry is being endorsed by state level Nodal Officer, it shall also be automatically routed to the National PMG, if there is any component linked to Govt. of India.

Mr. Anil Swarup, Addl. Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, Govt. of India, shared the success of the project. “In just 11 months time the National PMG has helped in clearing 151 projects worth over 5 lacs and 27 thousand crores. We are also looking forward to clear 275 projects worth 15 lacs and 50 thousand crores in the next few years”,

PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry jointly with Directorate of Industries organized an interactive session in which Dr. Shubhag Chand, HoD, Cabinet Secretariat Informatics Division (CSID), made an presentation on how the system works and briefed the industry members on how to use the online solution for any bottleneck the industries are facing during the implementation stage.
