H'ble Minister Inaugurating ITI Portal

Hon’ble Minister for Technical Education & Industrial Training Punjab Sh Madan Mohan Mittal inaugurated www.punjabitis.gov.in  web portal developed for the Department of Technical Education & Industrial Training, Punjab on 11th November at Chandigarh.

During the inauguration ceremony, all the senior officers from the department, Sh Navneet Kukreja, DDG & SIO Punjab and development team comprising of Sh Mukesh K Ralli, Technical Director, Sh Devi Singh Thakur, Sh Vikramjit Singh and Ms Puja Rani were present.

After the inauguration, NIC team gave detailed demonstration of the portal explaining various interfaces available in the portal and its functioning. The Portal shall help ITIs in Punjab to create their website dynamically.

Hon’ble Minister in his speech said that in the age of RTI and transparency, this website will help in furnishing information related to all aspects of Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs). He further said that with the click of button, people will know the availability of facilities like infrastructure, trades, faculty, trainees, placement beside other information in a user friendly manner and with ease for any ITI or selected ITIs based upon the choice entered.  Further he showed confidence that upon launching of the website, the department will be in better position to monitor the quality of technical education in the state and to check the functioning of technical education in the state. He particularly appreciated the aspects related to availability of specific trades teaching ITI wise, viewing the progress of wards by the parents and their wards’ attendance. The depiction of ITIs on the map and direction available were other feature which was appreciated by him. He congratulated department and NIC officers for developing and hosting the website in very short time besides developing website which is probably first of its kind in the country and can easily be replicated by other states without much customization.
