Established under the administrative control of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India, Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) is a public limited company incorporated under section 25 of the Companies Act. The organization is born with an objective to own, operate and manage, both grid connected and off grid solar power stations. SECI endeavors to promote research and development besides selecting suitable sites for solar power stations and ancillary facilities; exchange, distribute and sell power in accordance with the policies and objectives lay down by the Central Government under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM).

The website of the organization is quite visually appealing with clutter-free, minimalistic design and clear identity elements. The rich content of the website is well laid and seems to be updated on the frequent basis. The website offers content related to vision & mission, objectives and Organizational structure of SECI, business and services provided by SECI, along with publications & resources and financials.  The latest notifications, press releases and tenders are displayed on the right side menu of the homepage. The links to the related websites and RTI linked information are also featured.

The website has a well laid Site Map besides explicitly stated Website Policies. The website provides screen reader access and can be viewed in English and Hindi languages. It also has a feedback section for obtaining important suggestions and feedback from users. The website exhibits high compatibility with all major browsers.
