The newly designed website of the HP Forest Department was launched by Sh. Virbhadra Singh, Honourable Chief Minister, Himachal Pradesh in HP Secretariat, Shimla on 13th August 2013. Sh. Thakur Singh Bharmouri, Forest Minister, Sh. Kewal Singh Pathania, Chairman HP Forest Corporation, Sh. Sudripta Roy IAS Chief Secretary Himachal Pradesh, Sh. VC Pharkha, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mrs. Bharthi S Sihag, Principal Secretary Forests, Sh. R.K. Gupta PCCF, Sh. Sanjay Sharma, Principal Systems Analyst, NIC and other senior officers of the HP Forest Department were present on the occasion.

Sh. Rajeev Kumar, Chief Conservator of Forests (IT) demonstrated the newly designed website and informed that the website meets the two standards of GIGW (Guidelines for Indian Government Websites) and WCAG 2.0 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines). The website has been designed and developed through NIC and the Department of Forest is maintaining it through their Departmental officials using the Content Management System.

Honourable Chief Minster expressed the hope that the website will meet the objective of providing online citizen services and help in meeting the information needs of the citizens in a better manner.
