Launching of APIS for Republic of Maldives presented by Government of India
A presentation ceremony was organized on 17th March 2013 at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport, Male, Maldives on the handing over of Advance Passenger Information System (APIS) of National Informatics Centre (NIC) to Republic of Maldives by Government of India. In the ceremony, APIS Module of IVFRT-MMP was presented to Dr. Mohamed Ali, Controller of Immigration & Emigration, Maldives by H.E. D. M. Mulay, Indian High Commissioner, Maldives. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Ali said that Maldives has been in need of such a system for a long time and it would assist in simplifying the process of immigration clearance. Shri Madhavendra Singh, Scientist-D and Shri Rajiv Aggrawal, Scientist-C represented NIC for setting up of APIS facility at Male, Maldives. During the ceremony Authorities of Maldives marked this event as a “Giant Step” in the capacity of the country towards facilitating better services to the travelers. Indian High Commissioner H.E. D. M. Mulay described the handing over of the APIS as yet another milestone in the bilateral development partnership between the two Governments.
