AGMARKNET training at Bhubaneswar, Odisha for Nwe Market Nodes (Phase-VII)

The state level training on Agmarknet project (Phase-VII) was conducted on 02-03-2013 at NIC, Bhubaneswar to make 15 new market nodes operational. The training programme was jointly organized by Odisha State Agricultural Marketing Board and NIC. It was attended by about 45 participants covering market level officials, concerned DIOs of NIC and state marketing board officers. The training was inaugurated by Sri P. K. Pattnaik, IAS, Director of Agricultural Marketing, Odisha.

 In the beginning, Sri R. Sahu, Technical Director and Agmarknet Coordinator welcomed Chief Guest and participants. He explained about present status of the project and need for training to use Agmarknet for daily reporting of arrival and prices of agricultural commodities which will fulfill the objective of the project. Coordinator also told about the availability of NIC infrastructure which the marketing people can use for data reporting in case of their system failure.

 Chief Guest in his inaugural speech directed all market secretaries and staff to achieve cent percent data reporting in every month and asked marketing board to monitor market wise data reporting using the Agmarknet portal. He stressed the need for correct agmarknet data base which will serve the backend for Digital Mandi project being implemented in Odisha. He also appealed to NIC district centres to provide technical support to markets with respect to training and s/w problem. He further added that OSAM Board would conduct regular refresher training with the help of NIC so that transferred and new staff can continue data reporting without facing any problem.

 Sri K.C. Rout, General Manager, OSAM Board in his speech spoke about the importance of this national level project and asked all market level staff to be careful about timely data reporting and check for anomalous data. Marketing people were also told about government’s proposal to increase the incentives for timely data reporting.

 Installation of  Agmarknet Software ( Win 7 Compliant ) , Data entry and data transmission was demonstrated to the participants by Sri A. K. Behera, SSA and Sri P. K. Mishra, SSA.

  Various features of Agmarknet Portal were then explained by the coordinator and market secretaries were asked to complete market profile entry of all new markets as soon as it is available. Market wise data retrieval and schemes progress along with monitoring of data reporting was also explained to participants. Then practice session was conducted by Sri P. K. Mishra, SSA for all APMC personnel to make data entry for new markets.

 In the end feedback cum discussion session was held to clarify various doubts of market people and the training concluded with vote of thanks to the participant by Sri P.K.Mishra.
