3-Days Workshop on e-Granthalaya for Automation and Networking of Libraries

A three days “Workshop on e-Granthalaya Software for Automation and Networking of Libraries” was conducted during 06-08 April 2011 at Tamil Nadu State Centre of National Informatics Centre, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

 

The Workshop was Inaugurated by Shree Madaswamy Moni, DDG(NIC) over VC while Shree P Krishna Prasad, Sate Informatics Officer, NIC, Chennai delivered the Keynote address. Mrs R Gayatri, STD, NIC, Chennai delivered the Welcome address.  

 

Sh Ram Kumar Matoria, Technical Director from NIC, New Delhi provided introduction to the e-Granthalaya. Mrs Gowri Swaminathan, Scientist C from NIC, Chennai presented Vote-of-Thanks. Sh P K Upadhyay, Technical Director, NIC Hqs spoke about the e-Granthalaya project.

 

   The workshop was conducted for the libraries which are already using the e-Granthalaya Software as well as for potential users in and around Chennai and other parts of the Country. The resource persons from NIC were Shree Ram Kumar Matoria, TD, NIC HQ and Shree Venketa Ramanananthan, TD, NIC, Chennai who covered the various aspects of the software.

    During the Workshop, a DEMO-cum-Training of the software was provided. All participants were given the CD of the software along with the Installation Guide and User Manual. The participants appreciated the efforts being made by the NIC to provide the Free software along with the training and support.
