State level One day Workshop on National Animal Disease Reporting System (NADRS) was organized by National Informatics Centre on 04-04-2012 at Conference Hall, Kisan Bhawan, Sector-14, Panchkula for Districts and State level Veterinary Surgeons and officers of Animal Husbandry Department and Scientists from LLR University of Animal & Veterinary sciences Hisar,  along with District Informatics Officers of NIC Haryana State Unit. An overwhelming response was shown by the participants.
Sh. Parmvir Singh, Hon’ble minister for Agriculture and Animal Husbandry,   Haryana emphasized the importance of correct and timely reporting of   animal disease data for quick remedies and decision makings. While appreciating the efforts of NIC for the development of a comprehensive internet based Animal Disease reporting system he directed the concerned officers to implement this programme in right sprit across the state. He also appreciated the efforts made by NIC.
Sh. Hardeep Kumar, IAS, Financial Commissioner & Principal Secretary Animal Husbandry and & Dairying Department in his inaugural address said that NADRS is a very good beginning which is a base of building very good business intelligence and decision support system. He asked field officers to implement NADRS in totality so that Haryana can be shown as a role model for whole country. He emphasized on establishing a mechanism to monitor that each location is working on daily basis. He congratulated NIC in working out an efficient model and programme in the form of NADRS and desired that it should be expanded up to institute level down below the blocks to grass root level. Also Dr. K.S. Dangi , DG AH&D in his address emphasized on the identification of each and every animal for accurate and proper reporting so that there is a complete tractability of each animal. He stresses that detail of each affected animals under diseases along with traceability and identification is very important.

Sh. M.Moni, Deputy Director General, NIC (Hq) New Delhi, addressed the participants on NADRS Overview and shared his valuable views out of his experience of all other states. He emphasises on building of detailed Information Systems on ANDRS for the benefits of common man. He also touched upon the importance of introduction of IT at Grass roots level for overall socio-economic development.
Sh. G.S. Bansal, State Informatics Officer, NIC, Haryana presented overview of project implementation in Haryana State &  emphasized that inputting correct data regularly in the NADRS system is the key to success.
NIC HQ Team of NADRS including Sh Naveen Kumar, Technical Director, Sh. Sajjad Akhtar, PSA Sh. DV Singh, Sh. Janardhan, PSA, Dr. Vandna Khullar and Sh. Sanjay Agnihotri, made detailed presentations on NADRS. Dr. N.K. Jindal (Rt. Bottom) from LLR University of Animal Sciences delivered on contagious and infectious diseases.
Sh. Susheel Kumar, Technical Director, NIC welcomed the participants and integrated views of all participants and speakers during the workshop.
A panel of officers including Sh. Moni, DDG NIC, Dr. K.S. Dangi, DG AH&D, Sh. G.S Bansal, SIO, Sh. Naveen Kumar, TD NIC and Sh. Sajjad Akhttar, PSA answered the various queries of participants on allied issues of NADRS project and made the HCL, BSNL representatives understood to register and resolve the complaints received through SMS at the earliest.
Dr. GS Jakhar, Joint Director (Hq), Animal Husbandry & Dairying  Department Haryana delivered  the vote of thanks and praised a lot for NIC team of workshop organizers with a request to keep on organizing such a informative workshops time and again.
