The Model District Initiative workshop of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) was organized at Raipur Chhattisgarh on 19/08/2026. Officials and staff from the Health Department attended the workshop. A detailed review of the state's digital health system's progress, achievements, and future goals was provided in the workshop.

Hon’ble Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal inaugurated the workshop. He emphasized that it is essential to keep pace with the evolving technologies in modern times. For better monitoring of health services the department officials should be technologically competent.

The workshop highlighted that the most citizen-centric component of ABDM is the ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account). Through this, citizens can digitally store their test reports, prescriptions, and other health records. If needed, these records can also be shared with doctors with the citizen's consent from anywhere. ABHAs for 2.63 Cr. citizens have been created So far, in Chhattisgarh.

The workshop emphasized the use of the ABDM-enabled HMIS (Health Management Information System) in which all the modules i.e. OPD, IPD, Labs, Radiology etc. are interlinked in both govt. and private hospitals. The Nextgen eHospital is already running in 322 Government facilities including all Medical colleges, District Hospitals, CHCs and PHCs (Mahasamund district) of Chhattisgarh. The modules running in Chhattisgarh are OPD, IPD, Clinic, Store Pharmacy, Lab and Radiology etc. The information ranging from hospital registration to diagnostics, treatment, and discharge is getting synced with the patient’s EHR via Nextgen eHospital.

The state level Analytical Dashboard has been provided that empowers administrators to perform in-depth analysis of OPD registration trends, including both positive and negative traction, facilitating data-driven decision-making. They can Track multiple ABHA-related activities including ABHA Search, QR Code Scans, QMS (Queue Management System) interactions, ABHA Look-Up, and Walk-in ABHA registrations.

The Nextgen eHospital has been integrated with Drug Distribution & Management Information System (DPDMIS) of Chhattisgarh Medical Services Corporation (CGMSC) so that the hospitals using Nextgen eHospital may raise indent to warehouses of CGMSC and the warehouse may issue the indented items to the respective hospitals. The consumption data that is available with Nextgen eHospital has been shared with CGMSC via APIs.
