A one-day divisional workshop on the effective implementation of the PM RAHAT Scheme and the eDAR system was organized on 07 Aug 2026 at the Zila Panchayat office meeting hall, Surguja, by the Interdepartmental Lead Agency on Road Safety, Transport Department, Government of Chhattisgarh. 

The workshop was conducted under the guidance of Shri AJEET VASANT, Collector and Chairman of the District Road Safety Committee and Shri M.R. Ahirey DIG Traffic. The program was attended by Shri Rajesh Agrawal Superintendent of Police, Shri Ritesh Chaudhry Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Shri Vinay Soni Regional Transport Officer (RTO), Consultant Road safety Shri Dinesh Tank ,Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO), officers of the Transport Department, eDAR Nodal Officers and Station House Officers (TIs) from the Police Department, District Informatics Officers (DIOs-NIC) from all districts of Surguja Division, eDAR District Rollout Managers (DRMs-NIC), Ayushman DPCs, Hospital Consultants, Hospital Coordinators, District GROs, and officials from various departments. 

During the technical training session, Shri Saransh Shirke, eDAR State Rollout Manager (SRM), NIC Chhattisgarh, provided detailed training on the PM RAHAT Scheme and the eDAR system, including system workflow, online modules, the roles and responsibilities of different departments, and the timely processing of cases. He also addressed participants queries and shared procedural and technical guidance for the effective implementation of the eDAR platform across the division. 

Addressing the participants, Shri M.R. Ahirey DIG Traffic directed all police officers of Surguja Division to ensure that every eligible road accident victim receives the benefits of the PM RAHAT Scheme. He instructed that prompt verification, and necessary action should be initiated immediately upon receiving information about a road accident so that no eligible victim is deprived of the scheme’s benefits. He further emphasized that every road accident must be mandatorily entered into the eDAR portal, and all related cases should be processed in a timely manner. 

The primary objective of the workshop was to strengthen interdepartmental coordination among the Police, Transport, Health, NIC, and other stakeholder departments to ensure timely, transparent, and effective implementation of the PM RAHAT Scheme and the eDAR system, while enabling rapid assistance and cashless treatment for road accident victims. Participants appreciated the workshop and reaffirmed their commitment to improving the implementation of road safety initiatives and victim support mechanisms across Surguja Division.
