A State-level workshop on e-Governance in Judiciary for District Informatics Officers of Odisha was organized on 16 December 2025 at Odisha Judicial Academy, Cuttack with participation of all DIOs and senior officers from NIC State centre.

Inaugurating the workshop Shri Bidyut Kumar Mishra, Director, Odisha Judicial Academy highlighted the vital role of DIOs in various ICT services of the District Judicial Eco-system. He informed that Video conferencing facilities are available at High Courts and District Courts, all courts are in the process of digitizing court records and the S3WaaS platform of NIC hosts all District Court websites, ensuring secure and accessible web infrastructure.

Shri Soumya Sourav, Central Project Coordinator, Orissa High Court appreciating the valuable contribution of NIC team for the eCourts Project informed that National Judicial Data Grid (NJDG) portal serves as the primary platform for real-time monitoring of case management and judicial performance across courts.

Delivering keynote address Shri Surendranath Behera, Senior Director (IT) and Additional State Informatics Officer highlighted achievements under Phase-III of the e-Courts Project to make the judicial process more transparent, timely and accessible. In his welcome address, Dr. Ashok Kumar Hota, DDG & SIO informed that Al is being integrated in areas such as translation, prediction and forecast, improving administrative efficiency, automated filing, intelligent scheduling, enhancing the case information system and communicating with the litigants through chatbots.

DIOs were sensitized on key e-Governance initiatives including CIS, e-Filing, e-Payment, NGDJ, NSTEPs, eCourts Mobile App, and JustIS Mobile App etc. Smt. Itishree Nanda, Director (IT) & eCourts Project Coordinator, NIC, along with CPC and Shri Ashok Mallick and Shri Subharanjan Mantri, System Officers of Orissa High Court delivered different sessions. Shri Khirod Kumar Sahoo, Jt. Director (IT) coordinated the programme.
