NIC Tamil Nadu has been actively engaged in the design, development, and implementation of the Tamil Nadu Land Records Management System. To gain a deeper understanding of the services offered, Shri R. Anand, Additional Secretary, Department of Land Resources (DoLR), Government of India, visited the NIC Tamil Nadu State Unit on 06-06-2025, accompanied by Shri P. Madhusudhan Reddy, Director of Survey and Settlement (DOSS), Tamil Nadu.

State Informatics Officer (SIO), Shri M. Kamalakkannan, extended a warm welcome and greeted the guests with pleasantries.

The NIC Tamil Nadu State team gave a presentation highlighting key activities undertaken in major areas of Land Records, including Textual (Rural, Natham, and Urban), Spatial(Collabland), the Government Land Records (GLR) Portal, and the ‘Any Time Any Where’ e-Services.

The major services provided to both common citizens and various departments were also explained.

Additionally, the TNGIS Team (TNeGA, Tamil Nadu) presented an overview of the spatial data services offered to citizens. They demonstrated how geo-referencing was implemented using spatial maps retrieved from Collabland and textual data from Tamil Nilam (Rural/Urban), accessed through API services.

The Director of Survey and Settlement (DOSS) informed the DoLR Secretary that the sole authoritative data source for Land Records in the State of Tamil Nadu is Tamil Nilam. This data has been made available as a service through APIs and is utilized across multiple platforms, including TNGIS, Agri Stack, RBI Innovation Hub, and various other stakeholders.

Queries raised by the DoLR Secretary regarding TNGIS, Tamil Nilam, and Collabland were jointly addressed by DOSS and other participants.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks.
