Honorable Administrator UT Chandigarh Launched 'Cashless Campus' initiative through School Management Information System(SMIS) developed by NIC UT Chandigarh

Honorable Governor Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, while launching the “Cashless Campus” service, called it a revolutionary step in the education system of Chandigarh. He said that this initiative by Department of Education will not only make financial transactions safe, transparent and simple in schools, but will also empower students towards digital literacy. The Governor termed this innovation as a strong effort towards the resolution of Developed India 2047.

Honorable Governor shared the vision of “Developed India 2047” on this occasion and appreciated the efforts of NIC UT Chandigarh. Other dignitaries present on the stage are Shri Rajeev Verma, Chief Secretary UT Chandigarh, Smt. Prerna Puri, Secretary Education, Sh. Harsuhinder Pal Singh Brar, Director School Education along with Shri Ramesh Kumar Gupta, DDG & SIO and Shri Nitin, Scientist F.

School Management Information System (SMIS) is a software application or suite of tools designed to manage and streamline the administrative, academic and financial operations of a school or educational institution developed by Shri Nitin, Scientist F, NIC UT Chandigarh under the guidance of Shri Ramesh Kumar Gupta, DDG & SIO, UT Chandigarh.

Key Features:

1. Single Point Entry Portal.

2. Role based permissions.

3. All the master data will be populated through API from UDISE+ (Unified District Information System for Education) portal of Ministry of Education,    overnment of India including students, teachers, and school data.

4. The attendance of students will be marked by class teachers digitally.

5. The attendance of teachers will be marked by school digitally.

6. The SMS for absentee students will be sent to the parents.

7. The report card will be shown in the student’s login.

8. Teaching and Non teaching staff registration.

9. The students will pay their fee online from the portal and the amount will be shown in the PFMS account of their respective DDOs and to PAO of Chandigarh.

10.The management of sanctioned post is also covered in the portal.

    -> Best student of the year.
    -> Best attendance of the student.
    
2. Teacher transfer policy.

3. Study material will be provided by the school online and student can see in their respective logins.
