Empowering Governance through Digital Awareness: NIC Conducts Training at Karaikal


NIC Puducherry organized a one-day awareness program on Unified Data Hub (UDH), Civil Supplies, Utility Services, Integrated MIS Portal for Welfare Schemes, and Cyber Security for officials of Karaikal District, Puducherry UT. The event took place on 29th April 2025 at the Rajiv Gandhi Complex, Karaikal.
The program aimed to familiarize government officials with key e-Governance initiatives developed and maintained by NIC Puducherry. These platforms facilitate efficient service delivery across departments, covering public distribution systems, utility services, and welfare schemes under a unified digital framework.
Shri Manohar, DIO, Karaikal, welcomed the participants and provided an overview of NIC’s support to the district administration. He emphasized the role of NIC in enabling seamless digital governance through custom-built applications for departmental workflows.
The District Collector, Karaikal, in his keynote address, encouraged officials to actively use these platforms to improve public service efficiency. He lauded the efforts of NIC Puducherry and NIC Karaikal for their contribution to the district’s digital transformation.
Shri S. Arulraj, Senior Director (IT), NIC Puducherry, presented the architecture and features of the Integrated MIS Portal, UDH, and related services. He underscored their relevance in ensuring data-driven governance and integrated service delivery.
The session also included a focused discussion on Cyber Security, where guidelines for secure internet usage were shared. A Q&A session addressed practical queries, reinforcing user confidence in the deployed systems.
The event witnessed active participation from officials across departments, reflecting a strong commitment to leveraging digital tools for efficient governance.
