Foundation day of All India Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AIIPMR) , Mumbai was celebrated on 1st Nov, 2017.  Dr. T. Sreedhar (Retd Addl. Director AIIPMR) was invited as Chief Guest and SIO Maharashtra was invited as Guest of Honour to inaugurate the Wi-Fi facility which is set up in the AIIPMR Campus with technical support of NIC Maharashtra.  Dr. Anil Kumar Gaur Director and Dr. Smt. N.L. Wangdi (CMO) appreciated the technical services provided by  NIC.

 

            This Wi-Fi facility consists of 23 Access Points to cover the various sections viz. Academics, Administration, Library, Hostel and Canteen area. This wireless network supports latest available security standards like WPA2 and 802.1X and is centrally managed with wireless LAN controller at NIC (National Knowledge Network-NKN) facility at Delhi. The architecture of this network is scalable and easily configurable. Users are segregated based on roles (like Faculty, Student and Admin) and different policies, like QoS, application visibility, speed limit and data limit; can be applied on the users based on the category. At present more than 180 users are using this facility.
