Nagaland - TrackChild 2.0 Portal training conducted for CCIs
Two days State Level Training for Child Care institutions (CCIs) Nagaland on usage of Trackchild portal was held on 29th and 30th September 2015 at Zonal Council Hall Kohima organized by the State Child Protection Society Nagaland. Participants from 58 Child Care Institutions(CCIs) attended the training programme.
On the first day of the training programme the Society Director State Child Protection Society (SCPS) & Joint Secretary Social Welfare Department , Shri. Z Nyusietho Nyuthe gave the welcome address. In his address he briefly highlighted on the various types of home under the Child Care Institutions(CCIs), their roles and how they are different from each other. He also highlighted that there are 58 CCIs out of which only 36 CCIs are uploading on Trackchild Portal whereas the rest have not uploaded the required details, so there is the need for the rest of the CCIs to upload it in the Trackchild immediately. He also strongly stated that all the CCIs need to maintain certain standard as prescribed under the JJ Act and will be conducting inspection of all the CCIs.
On the second day the welcome address was given by Shri Satahi Sujho, Programme Manager Training. In his welcome address he highlighted that Trackchild was introduced by the Ministry of Women and Child Development for tracking missing and found children.
He said that Nagaland is forerunner in implementing Integrated child Protection scheme in India. However we are lacking behind in maintenance of database. Therefore, the objective of the training is to equip all the Child Care Institutions(CCIs)to handle the Trackchild Portal.
The keynote address was given by Smti. Meilemla Pongener Chairperson, State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Nagaland. She mentioned that missing children were very closely associated with exploitation. Our state situation is not as bad as some state in India but our society should take preventive measure before the situation worsen
She also highlighted that with changing time there is the need to emphasize to update oneself with the latest technology and also to challenge oneself to know about this portal.
Smti. Swedeseno Natso System Analyst and Project Coordinator Trackchild project NIC, Nagaland State Centre was the resource person for the two days training programme. She taught the participants through the various interface of Trackchild and discussed in detail the usage on Trackchild portal 2.0. She stated as stakeholders of the ICPS scheme however minute the details maybe it is important for the details to be uploaded in this portal. And this will help all the stakeholders including the family of concerned child and necessary action can be taken against vulnerability of children. She also answered queries to the doubts of the participants having problem with the Trackchild Portal.
Raitale Zeliang Programme Manager SCPS, the other resource person of the training taught the practical application of Trackchild . She highlighted that uploading information by the CCI online is not an option but has become mandatory and emphasised on uploading data accurately and regularly and timely.
