The training programme on e-Prisons suite (National Prisons Portal) for Odisha has been conducted at NIC, Bhubaneswar. This is a Mission Mode Project (MMP) implemented by Govt of India.

This portal (http://eprisons.nic.in), a web based solution for prison management contains the functional modules / deliverables as - Prisoner Information Management System, Visitors Information Management System, Hospital Management System, Police Monitoring System, Courts Management System, Roaster Management System (RMS), and Kiosk - for Prison.

The training programme was inaugurated by Sri Pradeep Kapoor, IPS, Addl. DG, Prisons. The training was conducted through Video Conferencing from NIC (HQ), New Delhi by Sri R. P. Saxena, DDG, Sri S. K. Sharma, TD. The training was attended by senior officials of Prisons Directorate, Odisha and senior jail officials of undivided Cuttack and Puri Districts as pilot districts. It will be implemented in all the 91 jails of Odisha.

Dr R N Behera, Sr. Technical Director, NIC, Bhubaneswar facilitated the training along with Mr K C Pattnaik, Scientist under guidance of Mr S K Panda, SIO.
