Shri J. Satyanarayana, Secretary, Department of Electronics & Information Technology (DeitY), Government of INDIA visited NIC, Madhya Pradesh State Centre, Bhopal on 2nd December 2013 to review the ICT initiatives in the State and to provide guidance to NIC officers to further improve e-Governance Services to State Government. He was accompanied by State IT Secretary, Shri Hariranjan Rao.

After formal introduction of NIC  officers, a detailed presentation on existing ICT resources, projects and activities of NIC Madhya Pradesh in the State was given by SIO, Shri M. Vinayak Rao. The presentation session was lively due to the keen interest & active participation of the Secretary as well as State IT Secretary, Shri Hariranjan Rao.  

 In his brief keynote address to NICians, Shri J. Satyanarayana appreciated the overall activities of NIC Madhya Pradesh & coordination with State Government. He suggested/advised various valuable point to NIC Officers as well as to State IT Department for further improvement of the services in the State, which includes, Policy for allocation of ICT infrastructure of NIC IDC & SDC (State Data Centre) to optimize the resources, Replication of potential applications at other States,  Re-engineering of various Government Processes during development of work-flow based systems, Integration of various Online Systems of the State for improvement of Citizen Services, Integration of UID with various Services Delivery Systems, Use of basic GIS layers by other  Government Departments/Organizations & use of power network in real time applications, Integration of SWAN with NICNET & NOFN to extend reach of connectivity as well as quality, Implementation of e-Office (one of the products of NIC) in the State, Skill development programmes by State IT Department to further improve quality of ICT services, Regular analysis & monitoring of usage of NICNET/NKN bandwidth, etc.

 He also visited NKN Bhopal PoP and took every detail of NKN connectivity extended to various institutes/organizations in State. Subsequently, he visted State Data Centre (SDC@MP), MPSWAN Centre, MAP_IT & MPSEDC. He was given a demonstration of various award winning applications (i.e., e-Uparjan, Samadhan Online, e-Districts (LokSeva), MP-Online, etc.,) by Shri Hariranjan Rao, who appreciated involvement & support of NIC Madhya Pradesh in these projects.

 It was a wonderful experience interacting with our Secretary, Shri J. Satyanarayana and receiving valuable guidance & support for improvement of NIC services to the State Government, in a very short but, significant duration.
