IVFRT-MMP Workshop on C-Form & S-Form organized at SHIMOGA
A district level workshop was organized on 1st August 2013 at SP office DAR Hall, Police Department, Shimoga. Sh. Dayalu, Additional Superintendent of Police inaugurated and presided over the workshop. Around 60-70 representatives from University, Institutes, Colleges, Hoteliers etc. attended the workshop. DIO Sh. Pramod Hirolikar, Shimoga NIC Centre gave a talk on IVFRT-MMP through power-point presentation and Sh. B. R. Anandathirtha, SSA, NIC-KSU, Bangalore demonstrated all the modules of IVFRT. Also live registration of a foreign national was done during the workshop.
The workshop was organized to create awareness on online submission of C-Form for Hoteliers and S-Form for Institutions. The programme was jointly organized by SP Office, Shimoga and DIO, NIC, Shimoga.
The participants included representatives of hoteliers and institutions. To ensure that foreign tourists do not stay in the city after expiry of their visa, the Superintendent of Police would track their movements online by implementing a Central Project, Immigration, Visa and Foreigners Registration & Tracking (IVFRT) system. The ministry of Home Affairs has identified Karnataka State amongst other Indian States and Cities for online registration of foreign tourists in the country. At present, Foreign Registration Office (FRO) located at the SP Office, Shimoga finds difficult to get the details of foreign tourists arriving in and departing from Shimoga, making it difficult for police to track the travelers.
The IVFRT development assumes significance as IVFRT will bring more efficiency in immigration, visa and online registration of foreigners, security and other services. National Informatics Centre which is providing the technical support has already implemented the project in 26 districts of Karnataka State. It can help to track immigrants, who were on the watch-list, look-out list, no-entry list and the foreigners overstaying their visa.
