Shri M. Moni takes over as DG, NIC from 1st May 2013

Shri M Moni, took over the charge from Dr. Y.K. Sharma as the new Director General of NIC on 1st May 2013. In his maiden speech, he expressed his gratitude towards SIOs, DIOs, Informatics officers and all other NIC people for their sincere, exemplary contributions towards NIC. He stressed upon that every individual should be at the centre of excellence of its sphere of action. He underlined the importance of development and research in e-Governance and accentuated on publishing more and more journals to underscore the best practices and also to encourage the scientific environment within NIC.

In order to upkeep the premier status of NIC organization, he emphasized on increasing the output by captivating individual, group, and organizational productivity. The new DG also called upon officials to come up with new projects, while ensuring that the same haven’t been initiated already in some other state or district. To ensure this, he asked everyone to contribute to the e-Governance apps store. Further, he directed all SIOs and other people in-charge to call upon Review meetings of various projects to ensure the timely and systematic completion of these projects. He also encouraged them to submit Minutes of Meeting by Monday evening of every week. He stressed upon taking further 11 priority areas set aside by his predecessor Dr. Y.K. Sharma. In the end, he called upon all to develop NIC as Model Office for e-Governance and asked for everyone’s’ contribution and support.
