Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Bhupinder Singh Hooda, launched the web portal (haryanatransport.gov.in) of Haryana Transport Department (Regulatory Wing) on April 10th, 2013 and dedicated it to the citizens of Haryana.

The objective is to bring in transparency, facilitate citizens to know desired information and avail services online. Appreciating the initiative of the department and National Informatics Centre, he said that each individual would be immensely benefited with these services.

Principal Secretary Transport, Sh. Hardeep Kumar, and Transport Commissioner, Smt. Sumita Misra, briefed the Chief Minister about the services and information available to the citizens through this web portal. The Transport Commissioner apprised the Chief Minister about the plan of adding more citizen centric services to facilitate the common man in the near future.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated the SMS services. Now, the information regarding the registered vehicles can be received through an SMS in the prescribed format (VAHAN ) to 9212357123. Besides this, an SMS would be sent automatically from the VAHAN system to the citizens’ registered mobile numbers. The SMS would include transactions like new registration, transfer of ownership , change of address, receipt of fee/tax etc.

The execution of the facilities mentioned above would enable the citizens to know about the status of their queries without visiting the concerned authority again and again.
