Sensitisation Workshop on GePNIC at RCFL, Mumbai, a leading Govt. of India PSU under Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilisers

Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Ltd. (RCFL) is a major producer of Fertilizers in India. It contributes to the National Agricultural Productivity by providing agricultural inputs and services. It is also engaged in various research and development activities like soil science, agronomy and related technology and processes. It is having three manufacturing units in Maharashtra with Head Quarter in Mumbai. For its procurement activities RCFL approached NIC to implement eProcurement. RCFL expressed its desire to adopt GePNIC through CPPP.

Inspired with immense success of eTendering at Miniratna Govt. of India PSU at MCL Odisha, RCFL Mumbai approached NIC, Odisha to prepare and submit a comprehensive project proposal with detailed Programme Implementation Plan. RCFL requested NIC, Odisha to present the same to RCFL Management.

The sensitisation workshop was organised at RCFL, Mumbai Corporate office on 8th April 2013 to discuss & present the various features of GePNIC. Shri C.M.T. Britto, Director (Technical) chaired the workshop.

The facilitators from NIC, Odisha, Shri S. K. Panda, DDG & SIO, Shri A. K. Hota, STD, were received with flower bouquets and were welcomed to the workshop organised at the Board room of RCFL.

Initiating the presentation Shri S. K. Panda, DDG, presented the unique features of GePNIC, the process flow, security aspects. It was followed by Live demonstration of the application by Shri A. K. Hota, STD. The questions raised by the participants were clarified.

Senior officers of RCFL including Shri Abir Banarjee, Executive Director (Trombay), Shri R. B. Patil, Executive Director (F & CSO), A Khurshid, DGM (Purchase) etc. participated in the interactions.

In the afternoon session the core team of RCFL discussed in depth about the need of process reengineering, change management and formulation of a detailed roadmap.

Shri A. M. Swami, CGM (Commercial) coordinated the workshop.
