A state level Workshop-cum-Training conducted on 7th September, 2012 to sensitize Centralised FROs (C-FROs) under IVFRT project at the Conference Hall, Jharkhand Police Headquarters, Ranchi. The theme of the programme was ‘Workshop-cum-Training on Immigration, Visa, Foreigners Registration & Tracking (IVFRT) Project” for implementation of Centralized FRO (C-FRO) module in various district police offices (SSP/SP offices) of Jharkhand. Training workshop was attended by 54 police officers from all districts of Jharkhand and other ranks of Jharkhand Police posted in SSP/SP offices, Intelligence Wing of Jharkhand Police posted at district as well as the headquarters. The Superintendents of Police, Deputy Superintendents of Police, Inspectors, Sub-Inspectors of Jharkhand Police attended the workshop, who are responsible for functioning of foreigners registration offices in the districts and police headquarters of Jharkhand. By this training, Jharkhand Police officials were sensitized about the Mission Mode Project (MMP) of Immigration, Visa, Foreigners’ Registration & Tracking (IVFRT) initiated by Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India under National e-Governance Plan (NeGP).

The future plan regarding rolling out of C-FRO software module in all FROs of Jharkhand was also discussed with the participants. IVFRT project is under the process of implementation in Foreigners Registration Offices (FROs) in all states of India.

The welcome address and a brief overview of IVFRT project was given by Shri A K Sharma JDD, BoI, HQ, New Delhi. The workshop presided by Smt. Asha Sinha, ADGP, Jharkhand Police, who apprised about the importance of IVFRT project to the participants vis-à-vis national security. The training sessions conducted by NIC officers Shri B L Agrawal, IVFRT Jharkhand State Co-ordinator and Shri Vikas Dixit, NIC-Hq. The workshop was full of technical presentations followed by live demonstrations of various modules like Centralised Foreigners’ Registration module (C-FRO) module, Centralised Black List (BL) / Look Out Circulars (LOC), VPN Token, Online Registration facility of C – Form. At the end of each training session, the queries of the participants were answered by Shri A K Sharma JDD, BoI, HQ,New Delhi and NIC officers.

Subsequently, a meeting was held by Home Secretary, Jharkhand with ADGP, IG, SIO NIC-Jharkhand and other concern officers on 4th October, 2012 with regards to implementation of C-FRO module in the state. Outcome of the meeting was an assurance on the implementation of C-FRO in four districts of the state like Ranchi, Bokaro, Jamshedpur and Dhanbad.
