eGovernance workshop at Mahamaya Nagar (Hathras), Uttar Pradesh

The national eGovernance programme to provide quick and cost effective services to the citizens was initiated in Mahamaya Nagar (Hathras) in Uttar Pradesh on 13th July 2012. The first step was to impart training to the government officials on the services to be offered through the new system and the changes involved which was conducted on the 13th. From the citizen and business perspective, more than 100 Common Service Centres (CSC) are being set-up in the district for delivering these services.  The CSC will be the interaction point for the citizens and will have the facility to download application forms and apply for 26 government services through internet.

To simplify the processes and ensure hassles free services to the citizens, manual system is being replaced by automatic electronic processes. The workshop was organised to acquaint the government officials and employees with new system. To ensure that these services are delivered in the specified time frame Digital signatures have also been introduced for faster electronic transactions.

Ms. Chaitra.V, DM Hathras addressed the officials and urged them to adopt the new system. She also emphasized on the requirement to conduct more workshops and training programmes for officials and awareness programmes for citizens.

Mr Rajesh Kumar DIO NIC Mahamaya Nagar (Hathras) gave a detailed presentation on the technology and use of digital signature to the district officials at the workshop. He also explained the whole process of electronic work flow for the selected services such as birth, death, caste, domicile certificates, pension etc.
