Mobile based Fertilizer Monitoring System (mFMS) - State level Trainer’s Training Organized for Haryana as First State of the Country

Timely availability of Fertilizer to the farmers in required quantity is an important ingredient for the Agriculture production in the country. To track the movement and information availability & visibility across whole Supply Chain, Government of India has decided to implement an mFMS (Mobile based Fertilizer Monitoring System). The department of Fertilizer at Govt of India is the project owner and NIC is the technology partner. A Task Force, headed by Sh. Nanadan Nilekani is monitoring the project regularly.  The project covers Areas like Stock Reporting by manufacturers, wholesalers, Retailers, Receipts & Sales Confirmations by wholesalers, Retailers and Access to the System through Web, Mobile Phones and IVR.
The  Krishal Bharati Cooperative Ltd. (KRIBHCO) is Lead Fertilizer Supplier for Haryana. 

The state of Haryana was selected as First state for organizing State level Trainer’s Training programme.  Accordingly, the training of trainers from KRIBHCO, IFFCO and Haryana Agriculture Department officers was organized on 23rd August, 2011 jointly by NIC, KRIBHCO and M/S Sahara Next, at Kribhco Office in sector-34, Chandigarh. The Introduction to direct Fertilizer Subsidy project, Web Application, Mobile client application and IVRS, modalities for field training and rollout plan etc. were covered along with installation of Mobile client application on the mobiles of participants and hands on training on selected modules.

The inaugural address was delivered by Sh. Ashok Yadav, IAS, DG (Agriculture) Haryana. Sh. N.K. Bhadu, CSM(M)- Kribhco Haryana addressed the participants. The technical presentation and overview of the project was given by Sh. YD Sharma, Scientist “F” & National Project Coordinator and Sh. Aseem Gupta, PSA & Project Leader, NIC Hq., New Delhi. The mobile application installation and operational training was provided by Technical team of M/S Sahara Next, headed by Sh. Nitin Gupta, Manager, Application S/W development. From NIC-Haryana, SIO, Sh. Harichand PSA & Sh. Alok Srivastva, PSA participated. Sh. SPS Chauhan JD and Sh. Punia, JD, Directorate of Agriculture Haryana also participated.
